Darcy want pizza now
That radio ad in which Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice orders a pizza? It really was voiced by Mr. Darcy, a.k.a. Matthew Macfadyen, who starred in the most recent film version with Keira Knightley (and the British TV series Spooks). He didn’t have to come to Manila to record it (depriving my friend Steph of the chance to stalk him), he literally phoned it in.

Spooks (or MI-5 as it’s called in the US) is the best cloak-and-dagger TV show ever made. 24, though entertaining, can get too far-fetched with their coincidences and whatnot in their storylines. The Brits have an edge on The Yanks in this department. Too bad …*spoiler alert*…
Matthew’s character, Tom Quinn was written out of the show in season 2.

Actually, Quinn left MI5 in season 3. And yes, Spooks is fantastic. Goodness, I want to hear that ad. What pizza is it for, and on what station does it air?

You’re right.
Season 2 actually ends with Tom heading for the ocean after shooting his boss. What I enjoy about this show is that no character is safe from the possibility of getting written out. If it serves to move the story, the writers don’t pull any punches.
I still need to get Season 4 on DVD.
