Two bands and a coronary later. . .
My last interview with singer-songwriter Ely Buendia was in 1994. I figured that two bands, one coronary, and a digital revolution later, it was time for an update
Jessica: The Julie Taymor movie Across The Universe features the songs of The Beatles. How would you feel about a movie musical featuring the songs of the Eraserheads?
Ely: They should call it Across the University Avenue.

“To that fan [who said she would kill Marcus if Ely wouldn’t sleep with her] I now say, ‘I AM NOT GOING TO SLEEP WITH YOU.'”
So is Ely saying “You go kill Marcus girl!”? But didn’t Marcus do a surprise set in that LivELY benefit concert last year? Why the bad blood still?

i’ve listened to mongols and pupil cds but nothing beats the sound of the eheads. i really miss the group…but i have a strange feeling that there will be a reunion soon =) wala lang, umaasa pa rin. i used to cut out eheads interviews from mags and newspaper, and they are all entertaining. yung mga sagot ni ely in this article are classic. salamat jessica for this =)
is he blogging somewhere?

i do not think an e-heads reunion is possible. atleast not in the near future.
they all have their separate careers now. ely is fronting pupil, marasigan is busy with sandwich and all his other bands and projects, buddy is with the dawn and marcus has his markus highway project and is a bonafide surfer dude.
for now we just have to be content with the 8 albums and 2 EP’s that they left us.
sana lang wala nang animosity between the 4 of them. tumatanda na tayo.
peace na lang!!!!

In 1995 I went to Zamboanga del Norte for a vacation, and it just so happened that the Eraserheads were also in town to do a campus tour. The local radio station ran a promo that whoever sang an Eheads song on air would receive a free ticket to the concert. By some fluke I was the caller the DJ picked, and before shame could get the better of me I sang “With A Smile.” I got the ticket all right, but since I was a 10 year old kid then my mother didn’t allow me to go to the concert.
“I wish I could go back to those fairy book tales. Forget the real world a while and seek the seas of talking whales. A place of wishing wells and magic spells…where everything starts at once upon a time long long ago and ends happily ever after.”
