Predict the future. . .
using pronouns for easier substitution and recycling. Or Remember the future, since everything that happens has already happened.
What happens next?
A. They will resign or be ousted, after which all corruption will be eradicated, justice will be served, the economy will prosper, and we will all live in peace and harmony.
B. They will resign or be ousted, and this time we really make sure we don’t get screwed again.
C. They will resign or be ousted, and be replaced by something even worse than you imagined.
D. They outmaneuver everyone once again because of the numbers, because of a technicality, or because everyone is too busy getting into position for the next election.
E. Nothing, but we will have been royally entertained. These dramas are not the means to an end; they are the end. (This is why local movie production is in the doldrums—movies cannot compete with reality.)
F. Nothing, but we will have been royally entertained, and hours later we’ll forget anything ever happened.
G. I have no idea what you’re talking about.
H. Someone else will take the rap.
I. Someone else will take the rap, then decide to take everyone down with him. (Since everyone is quoting Star Wars, “There is another.” Or was that “Another, there is?”)
J. None of the above. What will happen is. . .

…leaning towards E.
…fingers crossed that it will never take a turn for C
…A is just wishful thinking.

(J) None of the above. What will happen is. . . They (OPPOSITION) will pay more “hakots” and do another EDSA n, where n=infinity, and she will again apologize on national tv for betraying our trust, then he will be asked by her to leave the country to lie low, and finally we move on with our lives until the next presidential elections. We vote somebody worse, and the same thing happens all over again. Its a c-y-c-le. Haha!

C. They will resign or be ousted, and be replaced by something worse than than you imagined.
history (sic) repeats itself.

Hah! I think you’ve covered everthing there, momzel Zafra. Letter A would be nice, but who are we kidding? For me, though, the only thing worse than GMA staying in power is to see those pompous asses in the senate (not to mention the Estrada clan) gloating, proclaiming the “triuimph of the filipino people (or sambayanang filipino).”
Not much of a choice, is it? Poor us.
February 20th, 2008 at 11:05
I pick A.
February 20th, 2008 at 11:20
The future doesnt exist.
February 20th, 2008 at 12:17
We all want a B at least, but I think we’re getting a C, D or E at this rate. If nothing good happens with all of these, I’m rooting for E. Remember the Erap impeachment trial? Spot the sleeping congressman/senator? Spot the most hilarious statement ever heard in an impeachment trial? It’s a potential drinking game.
Seriously, why should we choose between the opposition and the administration? Can’t we have other options? Because damn, I just can’t stand the Estrada gang gloating and proclaiming themselves heroes again. Plus there’s the administration going “I’m a hero in exile” if they lose. It’s an insult to the Filipinos.

G. I have no idea what you’re talking about.
i don’t hear, watch, or listen to the news anymore

I say option E.
I believe most people think they did, but they are indifferent anyway; nothing is going to happen, no one is going to jail. Enjoy the show. Most of the fun will be predicting how they’ll bury the charges. Hopefully they won’t go for explosions, that card has been used several times before, too obvious.
Some people under the Trillianes delusion (i.e. “This time people will really come!”) will organize rallies; only the regulars and people bused in will come. Everyone will sigh in deep frustration, then move on with his or her life.
The Filipino’s dilemma:
under this administration: People don’t act because they don’t think it will change anything. Nothing changes because people don’t act.

Ideally A but it would not happen….
Most probably C….it’s so obvious lalo na ung bubbling under……
but try naten ung I…….
exciting…
no but I got to work…….
February 20th, 2008 at 23:11
F.
Filipinos suffer from severe repression.
February 20th, 2008 at 23:50
For many, even those in denial, it would be F.
For me, it’s a G.
A is a drug trip.
And I wholeheartedly agree with Jeg: the future doesn’t exist.

It is “There is another”, or to be more complete –
Obi-wan: That boy is our last hope.
Yoda: No, there is another.
[Alternately gasps or groans from first time viewers. Inscrutable and all-knowingly-immortal-yet-surprised looks from Yoda and Obi-wan respectively.]

Well, I’d rather watch and enjoy the show. This one’s quite entertaining.
MOre things are coming out!
The scandalous lives of the ELITE on the leash.
February 22nd, 2008 at 02:53
I choose option A. I also believe that we can eradicate poverty, pollution and that darn hole in the ozone layer. Please laugh, this is a joke. Nice to be back in this kick ass forum.
February 22nd, 2008 at 11:48
The world leaders saw the Ozone ‘hole’ as enough of a threat which is why they took collective action in terms of phasing out Ozone depleting chemicals, instead of taking refuge in snark. In other areas, we apparently haven’t reached that stage yet. I hope we still have time.
