The Longest Pause
First there was her reply to Malacañang’s offer of state honors for President Aquino. Powerful, a bit overdone, but effective. Then she was asked, ‘If President Arroyo comes to the wake, will you welcome her?’
Kris—looking fabulous and refreshed, no eyebags or dark circles, luminous complexion—half-smiles at the questioner. And pauses. Pauses. Paaaauuuusssssseeeessss…The audience is waiting, and she knows it, and she hooooolds it…Then she blinks and says, ‘That’s a very difficult question.’ And adds, ‘I’d rather not answer that.’
Brava!
You can count on Kris Aquino to say the things other people cannot say. Whatever she’s done, she does not tell lies.

Kudos to you, Kris. That very pregnant pause was a gazillion times glaring than a categorical “NO!”.

…i saw jessica soho’s interview with kris-zy and i found her (kris-zy) admirable for her blunt/blatant responses. and all i could think of is how this person takes the situation off-camwhen on-cam she is still poised, calm despite the tear drops. i have never been a fan of kris but i have to agree with elmo; she’s “grace under pressure” personified.

to paraphrase McLuhan, Kris is the message!

Kris’ interview on the Buzz was extremely poignant, to the point that my sister went to the other room just that she won’t cry hearing Kris’ relay of the events toward Cory’s passing. The way she narrated the events surely shook my emotional core. I was trying really hard to pullback the tears, with my Dad sitting beside me.
She was very emotional (who wouldn’t), but she was still very much composed, even when she was expressing her dismay on the pulling-out of the security escorts while Cory was still confined in Makati Med. Made me admire her more.

Hear ye! The Little One cannot go to The Woman in Yellow’s wake because The Queen of Talk implied that she is not welcome. Same goes for The Beautiful One.

GMA went anyway, what guts. Kapal muks talaga,as what we say. Imee and Bongbong, though not expected, showed up and appeared sincere in their condolences. They did so without trying to catch the media’s attention, and left as quickly as they could. Such a good gesture. Afterall,it’s not their fault that they were their parents’ children. My question is: when GMA goes to meet her maker (we all will, someday),does she think the Filipinos will escort her to her resting place the way we did Ninoy and Cory Aquino? Lesson: Filipinos love and honor those who love them. Scr__ with us,our laws, our intelligence and our sensibilities again and again, there will be consequences dirty money,a fictitious press release or corrupt congress allies can’t pay for.

i just wished the cameras did not have to be fixated on kris all the time. granted that she is a showbiz personality, i felt uncomfortable about it being about her as far as the cameras are concerned. i also almost fell off my chair as she “embarassed” noynoy with that getting married remark. in fact, in the coaster, as jessica soho sat beside noynoy, kris teased that they were pairing jessica with noynoy. that was an awkward moment..putting people on the spot is almost always never a good idea. more so in this occasion.
