Wonderful
It’s. . .Disney Pixar’s Fitzcarraldo!
It would only be ruined by over-description. Must see Up again in IMAX 3D.
Visit Up story supervisor and lead story artist Ronnie del Carmen’s blog.
Ricky relayed our congratulations to Ronnie (They worked together on local toothpaste commercials) and asked if the character Carl the old man was based on Ronnie (Square-jawed, not cranky). Ronnie said they had Spencer Tracy in mind—a square version—and added that he tended to draw his father in all the storyboards. He directed a short starring Dug the dog which will be included in the Up dvd, and there’s also a Dug storybook.

I’ve been waiting for the Philippine release of this movie for a long time! :) Yay! Unfortunately, according to SM Cinemas, it won’t be shown in IMAX, only in their 3D cinema. :( I suggest you try the Trinoma or GB3 3D cinemas a substitute. :)

So true. Words will only ruin everything. Just watch it.

The first 9 minutes made me cry, and so I had to stop and compose myself (it took 48 hours) before I could continue.. Sentimental fish-fash I know, but the idea of losing the one I love is just unbearable..

He DOES look like Carl! I love his drawing style – I’ve been browsing and reading Disney and Pixar’s movie art books since I was a kid. I must say, I miss these seemingly simple and very colorful chalk/pastel drawings.
And what’s the deal about “Up” being 3 months late?!! We have way too advanced screenings of crappy blockbusters (Transformers, Harry Potter), but why delay Pixar?

it’s like the ridiculous idea of being flown by balloons has been totally discarded by the senti-ness and unqiue story-telling! PIXAR you’ve done it again!
