My white tabby Mat is the sweetest cat, but our oven-like weather is making even Mat cranky. Yesterday I woke up because he was breathing on my face.
“I want my breakfast,” he said (telepathically).
“There’s food in your bowl, go eat. I’m still sleeping.”
“My bowl must be full. You have to top up the kibble.”
“Later, don’t be like your neurotic human mother.”
“I want a full bowl of kibble.”
“Zzzzzz.”
Whack! He smacked my forehead. Realizing what he had done, he ran out of the room. A chase ensued. No more sleep.

Sayang po, hindi ako nakahabol (ngayon lang nakadalaw dito). Iniisip ko rin po kung ano ang isasagot ko kapag dumating na ang time (I have a 5 year old girl). Paano ko rin ba ihahandle ang situation.
She once told me my tummy is big because I have a baby inside, mataba lang. And she once asked me “Mommy, Pao (her name) was here? Dito sa tummy mo?”–I think school is trying to introduce the idea na galing nga sya sa tummy ko. But in case she will pop out the question soon, baka ito ang sagot ko:
Mommy…
Paano ginawa ang baby?
Baby is made out of heart’s desire, anak. Normally, there is a daddy and a mommy involve. But sometimes a boy and girl too. Pero a girl cannot do this unless it is her one true love.
Remember when you saw Sam Milby on the television and you said you like him. Same as that. It should be someone you love, hindi like lang. (my little girl likes Sam, ewan. hehe)
So I have to be married first?
Preferrably, yes. Kasi kawawa naman ang baby pag walang daddy. Pwede lang syang maging official daddy kapag married sya sayo.
Then the baby like me grow inside the tummy na?
No, not yet. There’s a lot of effort. There will be pain, sometimes blood. (I don’t like blood Mom!) Yes, I know you don’t want to get hurt, so you have to be careful to do it with someone who will take care of you and the baby.
The baby making process is long but fun. There’s kissing (I’ll give her a little peck, baby kisses) and bear hugs (hug my little girl with gigil) and a lot of talking! (Talking?)
Yes, you have to talk about the baby’s name and how he or she will look like. You have to plan. Like when we draw the lady bug? We color her, put dots on her. Same as how we do babies.
So you see, making babies are hard work from Mom and Dad. And when you are as big as mommy and when you can cook already, take care of your self. Then may be the time is coming and you can make baby soon.
Where does the baby come out?
Ahhh, this is the painful part sweetheart. The doctors will either slice up your tummy, or the baby will come out from you ‘pipay’ like ‘poo poo’ (a deafening scream of “nooooooo”)
Yes, but me and daddy and you true love will help you. I will be there and daddy and your baby daddy. We will all help to get the baby out.
It will hurt so much?
Yes, bunso. But, the doctors are there too. And since you are big enough then, you can bear the pain. Don’t worry sweetie, Mom will teach you how.
So there you go, anymore questions.
(I don’t like blood, I don’t like pain…grouch)
Then, we’ll talk again about this when it’s time to make a baby for you, it that’s alright. But for now, you are my only baby..today, tomorrow, love and love and love.
Yan po siguro ang magiging conversation namin. No mother would ever want her daughter to be alone on all this. Hindi man laging perfect ang lahat, but we always still want them to learn about it in the best way possible–less the pain, less the heartaches.
Salamat po uli.
