re: manangs and towels only
i think kids who grew up in north america, australia and nz are just so used to undressing in a shared locker room that being in a towel only is nothing. and they’re jocks so this’ll be a more frequent occurrence.
but having gone to an all-girl catholic school in the philippines got me used to much more modest situations. so much so that when i was in a locker room in a YMCA here in Canada, it was ‘distressing’ that the woman using the locker beside mine was butt-naked and bent over. i had to turn the other way and grab my things from the locker blindly. (i’m exaggerating.) and then i would change clothes inside a cubicle.
so when i heard recently that one of the dorms (they call it residence here) of a prestigious university had co-ed bathrooms, i could only imagine that if i had ended up in that school and residence not knowing that fact, i would’ve been so horrified that i’d get a tabo and timba and ligo from my sink. hahaha
good thing though that the parent of the kid who was going there and telling us the story was equally uncomfortable with that idea and she’s canadian – blond, born there, etc.
