Nerd With Her Optometrist. That’s Nella Sarabia, who’s been my optometrist since 1996. Her shop is at the UP Shopping Center, telephone 4355685. (Incidentally if you do not have a current UP ID you can only enter the campus through Carlos P. Garcia Avenue. The other access points have gates now.) Nella’s great-grandfather was the first Filipino optometrist.
The frames are Ray-Ban Wayfarers (available at Adora), prescription lenses by Nella. My first non-vintage non-thrift shop/flea market/curio store eyeglasses. Happy Solstice to me.

Federer-Nadal had an exhibition match for charity in Zurich. Roger picked up Rafa at the airport. They hung out.

I was told that an alumni ID will also do (in lieu of the current UP ID). Though I heard some of the students just flashed Rebisco biscuits and were let in…

When are we going to see Jon covered only by a book? He’s a jock, isn’t he? It would not be fair if his teammates get to take their clothes off and he gets to keep them. Yes, yes, he says that he doesn’t know how to pose for the camera but that’s no biggie. True, he’s a guest columnist but he is still a jock. What happened to equality?

In 1996, I had this conversation with my mom.
Mom: Give me one good reason why you want to study in UP.
Me: It’s the only university in the country that has no gates, meaning, I can storm out of there if and when I want to.
Mom: But isn’t that more dangerous?
Me: Of course not, again having no gates makes me get out of school alot faster, during frat wars, etc.
WRONG ANSWER! But I ended up in probably, a far more dangerous place than UP, a college beside Malacanang Palace! Hahaha! I win!

Dr. Feelgood: That’s a Mercedes Goldwing, according to a post on RF’s website. It costs about US$100,000 but Roger got it for free since he’s a spokesperson for the car company.
Tama ka Brewhuh. It’s the best bromance ever in the sports world. Rafa often flies on coach, but I guess he was convinced to take a private jet because Roger sponsored him. Kuripot, no? :)

I agree with brewhuh. :) Remember the video they made last September to promote this charity match? Rafa couldn’t get his lines correctly and Roger was just cracking up the whole time! Cuteee!

I told Chus to look for someone we know who also knows Neil Etheridge because we can’t just walk up to him because it creeps me out when people with cameras do that to me. So Chus looked and looked and looked and he couldn’t find a “connect”. Today he went to the former Propaganda (now Jing Monis Salon or as we call it, Ming Jonis) where he cuts hair and I get my hair cut and discovers that NEIL ETHERIDGE GOT A HAIRCUT THERE BEFORE HE WENT TO INDONESIA! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

That would be a 2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, a.k.a., the “New Gullwing,” to differentiate it from the original iconic Mercedes-Benz Gullwing of the 1950’s.

@Akyat-Bahay Gangster: yup, it’s a Gullwing and not “goldwing” as I previously posted. My bad. I don’t know how many lifetimes I have to work to be able to afford one so I’ll just stick to admiring it.

The SLS-AMG is indeed the Gullwing due to the doors that swing upwards to make it look like it has wings. It could be had for more than $200k. But I think it’s kinda ugly and I prefer the SLR McLaren that it replaced as Mercedes’ halo supercar, though. The ceramic brakes go up in flames if used hard enough!
