The New York Times lists 37 Asian Odysseys and not one of them is in the Philippines
Read the article in their Asia issue.
Could be that the contributors just didn’t find anything of interest here, if they came by at all, but we suspect it’s an image problem.

This is not a sarcastic question; I have genuinely no idea as I’ve never really had the chance to explore the country. But which place/event in the Phils. could be included on this list? Except for the fine beaches – which many other countries have as well – I could only think of the Pahiyas Festival, which I saw being featured on the Discovery Channel and it was gorgeous with lots of distinct character.

Dr. Feelgood, I haven’t explored our country yet as well but surely we’ve got at least one cultural site worth featuring. Lucban during festival season, as you said, is one. So it must indeed be an image problem.

It’s a shame how our country is so rich in natural resources that other countries import our goods…and many foreign researchers only know of our beaches. Sagada and Sinulog are only a few of the other things I know that can match the Pahiyas.
