Sucker Punch: An 11-year-old boy could write this.
Fetch us an 11-year-old boy.
No doubt a 12-year-old is running the studio.
On the bright side, Sucker Punch is a reminder that Quentin Tarantino Is A Genius. (You don’t just filch stuff from older movies, you filch the good stuff not the cliches.)
The very 90s soundtrack includes Bjork. Hey wasn’t this song in Tank Girl?

i’ve watched this with my boyfriend because i found the japanese uniform thingy cute. that convinced me to watching this. i did not read the reviews because i don’t want to spoil my excitement. And lo and behold! i was quickly disappointed the first time those three samurai robots or monsters appeared and she was holding the sword the wrong way and the heels on her shoes were gone after jumping above the monster (that was an epic fail.there were a lot of epic fails in that movie). I was dumbfounded because i wasn’t sure anymore what the movie was about. I asked my boyfriend if it was based on a game since there were tasks and then there was the key like a classic quest from a video game but he said he wasn’t familiar with it being a game. I was in a coma while watching it. My boyfriend lost interest and fell asleep.
However! I was happy hearing Bjork again. It was just sad that i heard it from that movie. I wonder if Bjork gave them rights willingly to use the Army of Me. They should’ve just used Britney Spears’ You want a piece of me or Let me break the ice…tsk! they also used one song from Alice in Wonderland’s soundtrack about the blue pill and the red pill..gah!
The protagonist was the one from Lemony Snicket’s Series of Unfortunate Events. The movie was such an unfortunate event. Tsk!

Ayy. If your boyfriend fell asleep, the movie really did not work. I thought guys were supposed to like it as it had fighting girls in lingerie.

Visually I enjoyed it, but it’s a video game pretending to be a movie. This makes “Watchmen” look better. Also, it reminds me of exploitation films (tech-sploitation!), but lacking some fun, cheese and sex.
Can Zack just do production design for Tarantino and Rodriguez? Or can they hire Zack’s creative team? He should stick to designing and away from directing.

It’s supposed to look like a video game. I enjoyed it, but then again I’m probably part of the demographic.

Despite the mixed reviews I still want to see Sucker Punch but will probably wait when it comes out on DVD :)
Here’s a link to a video that shows scenes from Kill Bill and the scenes from several movies that Tarantino got inspiration from.

The thing about his ‘epic movies’ — especially this — are they don’t leave much room for girls to enjoy themselves being girls. But at least for Sin City, 300 and Watchmen, we can say the original material were at least coherent, written well, and meant to appeal to boys’ noire-ish fantasies. This is just plain horrible.
Grow your hair and cheeks back, Jenna Malone. I’d rather confuse you with Evan Rachel Wood before she hooked up with Marilyn Manson, thus becoming Dita Von Teese 2.0, than with Celine Dion the Vegas years.

So was the movie really based from a video game since it looked like a video game?? and i don’t know which part of the movie the title can be connected.. they didn’t punch. they held guns. the more i think about it, the more i regret watching it. tsk!
@Ms. Jessica, he said he thought it was a chic flick since it was full of chicks who hold their guns incorrectly so he snored all the way.

Not based on a video game; meant to showcase visual stuff, not story – which is basically Shutter Island, then probably in the middle of making the movie Inception came out and they were like, cool idea, let’s put that in our movie in the form of four more chicks in fishnet and leather that do nothing for the story because that’s not important here. This is Snyder’s Fantasia.
