X-Men: First Class and the Outcast Fantasy
X-Men Popart courtesy of Twentieth Century Fox
We have always loved the X-Men. How could we not? It is the ultimate outsider fantasy: You mock me, you persecute me, but secretly you fear me. In your darkest hour, only I can save you.
If I feel like it.

only two complaints about xmen FC
1) January Jones’ acting
2) the X-Kids don’t talk like they’re from the 60s. eg Darwin: “Stay here my ass!”

Well Emma Frost has diamonds for skin so it must be hard to be expressive, haha.
Yeah the argot is off.

The lines uttered by Professor X (James McAvoy) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) whenever they are alone together were hilarious–I really laughed out loud in the cinema (“Stay by my side” etc.).
XMFC reminds me of Tom Ford’s A Single Man. Dunno why.
Btw, Michael Fassbender is the man. From the mini-series Band of Brothers to the movie Hunger (thanks to you, Ms Jessica)–including X-men–he’s….aiiieeee!

Because Nicholas Hoult from A Single Man plays Hank McCoy/Beast. Before that he was the boy in About A Boy. Anyone feel ancient?

The mill of psychological traps that is high school. It even surprises me how old relationship rumors still survive more than a decade after graduation.
In other news… Ek! The Boy is now a Beast?! Just the other day, I saw a recent Jonathan Lipnicki photo and couldn’t believe that he was that cute little boy back in ’96. And then I searched his Jerry Maguire stills to compare. And then searched Stuart Little stills (bakit parang mas mukhang matanda si Dr. House noon?) to plot his aging timeline. There’s a gap between Stuart Little and the present day. It was like searching for the missing link – can’t connect the “then” to “now.”
