Arriving in March
It was supposed to be “Best Young Filipino Novelists” but in the 3 1/2 years it took to put the journal together the adjective got hilarious. The accurate title would be “Filipino novelists under 50 writing in English whose works we are familiar with and like” but that would be cumbersome.
We compiled the novel excerpts with the help of Zack (R. Zamora) Linmark (Leche. That’s the title of his novel), who contacted the authors. Yodel Pe is the designer, David Guerrero the publisher. Forgot to ask what the cover price is, but let’s assume Php500-750.

C. For posterity’s sake, because I bought multiple copies of Flip in the past and now most of them are gone.
I’d like to read more novels by young/contemporary Filipinos. I used to stay away from them because they remind me of my dreams (which were rightfully crushed hahaha), but I need to read new things. I wish this would be helpful.

If it is only novel excerpts, my answer is A. If it has interviews, essays, etc., it’s still A + I would force my friends to do an A for themselves.

Excellent choices. ‘Umbrella Country’ and ‘Mens Rea’ are favourites. Will harass cronies to get copies.
