World Domination will be wearable.
Our enterprising friend is coming up with a line of T-shirts called World Domination, featuring things we have said or written. We’ve been talking about the design for some time.
If we had our way, all T-shirts would be black or white (or a single dark hue), with a line of text. We like basic and stark—we’re strange enough on our own. The shirt-maker said our idea was too severe; we want to reach the mass market and the buyers would like a bit more pizzazz. We didn’t want anything cartoony or obvious. Finally the shirt-maker suggested a translucent overlay.
What do you think? Would you buy this shirt? Target retail price: under Php300.
They could also make variants without overlays, with satin necklines in lighter shades and text to match.
Are there any lines we’ve written that you’d like to see on a t-shirt? Let us know. If the t-shirt gets made, we’ll send you one.

Please make shirts for us guys too. These would also make wonderful Christmas gifts!
Why not make prints of your cats with quotes purportedly uttered by them?

If the blue shirt had a little bit more sleeve (I don’t that cut would be flattering for women with big arms), I’d buy it!

would I buy that shirt? If there are big sizes, YES!

the chronicler of boredom: Thanks for the suggestion! We’ll make a line of shirts for guys.

Marielle: Good idea. We’ll relay this to the shirt-maker.

rani: Of course! We plan on wearing them after all.

I would not mind if the shirts are sold at a higher price as long as the quality of the material is good. I’d like the shirts to withstand repeated washings.(Hahaha. Demanding)
August 18th, 2013 at 22:03
the chronicler of boredom: We’re field-testing the shirt. The material is a soft, stretchy cotton that keeps its shape. We will wash it several times this week to check the color.
The truth is, most T-shirts on the market are grotesquely overpriced. The retail price is bloated by advertising and marketing costs and exorbitant mall rents. These shirts will not be advertised, nor will they be sold at the mall, so the prices will stay low. Good word of mouth is essential.

“Revulsion is a kind of fascination.” I can’t recall where you said this but I’ve always wanted to put this on a shirt ever since. It might not be world-domination-ish though and could seem ambiguous (is the wearer revolted/fascinated by the “hampas-lupa” around her or are the “mamamayang makakapal ang talampakan” fascinated by the wearer?), but me likes it.

balqis: Hmmm, cryptic. Could work. If it gets made, we’ll send you one.

P300 is reasonable. I would definitely buy one. Line to put in? I do not recall the exact words but you said something like this to someone before: “get a life and get out of my way”. I would also like a shirt with just one of your eyeglasses printed on it.

“Because Pinoys view life as one endless beauty contest. Nagmamaganda.” The t-shirt has a caricature of Miss Major-Major. You’re right, the t-shirts being sold these days are so astronomically-priced you’d think they’re made of some kind of hard-to-find fabric. And they lose their shapes after two washings. But I like your concept and the social consciousness that goes with it, so I’ll be sure to tell my friends about it. I hope you plan to put out t-shirts with sleeves, too.

I would buy these, esp. the white with translucent overlay, if it had sleeves, even a capped one. I agree with Koosi – that last pic with her looks like a good print!

Triple X sizes in black, please. Heft and grimness are important in world domination.

This shirt will be perfect for my best friend of 15 yrs who to this day still goes “ikaw?”, “kahit saan”, “ok lang…”, whenever we try to talk about where to eat/what to have.
Pls let it be available in small sizes too :)

My favorite line would be: embarrassment is better than regret.
Whenever I think (over-think) of doing something, this line helps me. :)

WE WANT 10 OF THEM IN BLUE AND PEEEENNNKK!
August 19th, 2013 at 23:49
Wait this isnt world domination-themed but I really loved this and still live by it: “you can only allow yourself to be depressed for 12 minutes, anything more than that is self-indulgence”. Bagay ipaalala sa insta-jologs/tweetuhr generation :)

how about the recent one where you were going to live dangerously so you went into a health food store?
the overlays and satin necklines are great ideas!

greeneggsnham: That wasn’t us, that was a science-fiction writer quoted by our friend Din. Must ask Din.

Gusto ko ng shirt with sleeves kasi medyo malaki ang braso ko. ‘Yung may translucent overlay ay panalo para sa akin.
Gusto kong linya: “Let’s buy Spain.”
(Pwede ring variant: “We have billions of PDAF. Let’s buy Spain.”)

collar shirts please.
August 22nd, 2013 at 18:57
superboink: We don’t think collar shirts work with text. They look like uniforms for a bowling team.
August 23rd, 2013 at 11:24
make it available in plus sizes, please!!
September 1st, 2013 at 20:36
” I am a goddess! I am a goddess! I am a goddess! :D a green shirt wouldbe cool!
September 5th, 2013 at 17:17
When will it be out in the market? “Life is unfair. Live with it, shut up” is my fave line.
September 6th, 2013 at 03:11
Oh wow. I’d wear anything with a Jessica Zafra quote. Time to take out my collection of world domination lines. :)
If I were to order, would you guys be able to ship to SG?
September 6th, 2013 at 13:33
Perenelle: Yes! The freight will cost more than the shirt, so pool orders.
