* Drogon. Drogon the white cat has recovered fully from his respiratory infection. He will be home Tuesday, after he gets neutered. Our cats are looking forward to his return with great excitement…okay, they’re bored as usual, but with the new arrival there should be some interesting chase scenes. They could use the exercise.
* FLIP. The magazines with Joel Torre on the cover have been delivered to JT’s Manukan for JT to sign. Joel is in Zambales, but will autograph them when he gets back midweek. Your reserved copies should be in Manukan branches by Saturday. Call your branch to check.
* The writing workshop. We have already alerted the participants to our first writing workshop. The workshop dates will be announced as soon as we get confirmation from our sponsor. We’re getting a sponsor to defray the costs so we don’t have to charge the participants. Processing will take a bit longer. In the meantime, we have room for four more participants. Send the requirements to saffron.safin@gmail.com until 15 September.

How’s Drogon? Hope there’s no complicated ‘adjustment period’ between the recovering one and the bored others.

UVDust: We just heard from the vet: he underwent the procedure yesterday, is recovering nicely, and will be ready to go home tomorrow. He just needs to wear a collar to keep him from touching the wound. Unfortunately we’ll be out all day and won’t be able to watch him or keep the older cats from oppressing him. So we’ll pick him up Thursday afternoon, unless we finish early tomorrow.

The Flip magazines to be delivered to JT’s Julia Vargas fanchise aren’t there yet. I called last Friday to check, nada. I called today, lunchtime, to check on them again.
Me: Hi. I would like to inquire if the Flip magazines have arrived.
Lady at the other end of the line: I don’t know.
Me: Ah, can you please check?
Lady: Well, I really don’t know.
Me: That’s why I am asking you to please check.
Lady: What is it again?
Me: Flip magazines.
Lady: (talks to someone in the background) No Flip magazines. We have other titles, though.
Me: Oh, thanks anyway.
This is not a follow-up. Just sharing the conversation with the lady at the other end of the line.

silentfollower: Just called JT’s. The magazines were sent to Joel’s house for him to sign. He’s still in Zambales shooting. Will update you.
