Thank you, Mr. Reed.
Our favorite Lou Reed lyrics: The Gift.
Waldo Jeffers had reached his limit. It was now Mid-August which meant he had
been separated from Marsha for more than two months. Two months, and all he had
to show was three dog-eared letters and two very expensive long-distance phone
calls. True, when school had ended and she’d returned to Wisconsin, and he to
Locust, Pennsylvania, she had sworn to maintain a certain fidelity. She would
date occasionally, but merely as amusement. She would remain faithful. Keep reading.

Woke up from sleeping in on the weekend to this piece of news. I found a performance from the David Letterman Show of him playing Sunday Morning. It just meant so different in a lyrical sense playing the track on repeat in Youtube.

RIP, Lou Reed.

RIP Lou Reed.
I must say that it’s hilarious how many people on the ‘net think it was Lou Bega (Mambo No. 5) who died.

Reminds me of folks who thought it was Lance Armstrong or Billie Joe Armstrong who died when Niel passed away.

Unfortunately, I have more covers of his songs than originals. But what I remember most are the articles and interviews about him. His ‘feud’ with Lester Bangs. How he unwittingly inspired people to start a band. How Neil Gaiman named his first daughter after a drag queen from one of his songs.

I was, if I might be so bold, indirectly inspired by him. With respect, RIP, Lou Reed.
