According to the provincial disaster coordinating council, 92,000 people in Capiz province have been rendered homeless by typhoon Yolanda. Power and communications have not yet been restored. There’s been little coverage of the devastation in mainstream media.
These photos were taken by Jong Arcenas in Roxas City, Capiz. The devastation is even worse in the outlying areas. The people need water, blankets, medicines, and cooking utensils. Please bring your donations to Luzon branches of Bibingkinitan and spread the word #HELPCapiz. If you need more information, contact Stella Arnaldo @pulitika2010.
We’re no strangers to disaster, we know the drill. Help Capiz now.

My salary’s already being deducted for the Visaya relief operation, Your Grace.

wangbumaximus21: As in a compulsory deduction? Not voluntary?

Compulsory, yes, Your Grace. But me and my fellow proletarians have definitely bear no issue with that one, Your Grace. My “state” employer did that in 2008, during the Ondoy and the Bicol tragedies. This is not an isolated case, Your Grace, for every state agency has its employees “bonuses” or wages being deducted as a mean of helping raise funds for the relief operations in this colossal state, Your Grace. Again, we are not complaining nor protesting this move, Your Grace. If there’s one complaining, Your Grace, please consider that fellow Selfish/Greedy. That’s all, Your Grace.
