Joffrey Baratheon (Lannister) IS King: Jack Gleeson appears at the Oxford Union.
That is the First of His Name, King of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm.
Jack Gleeson discusses his aversion to celebrity culture, which would be ironic because the primary reason he’s been asked to speak is his celebrity, but he has declared that he is quitting show business after Game of Thrones.
We hate him, we love him, we hate him, we love him, we hate him….
Update: The Q&A that followed his speech. Tsk, tsk Oxford students.

If only most of our own celebrities can intelligently think, speak and articulate like Jack (sigh).

Jack Gleeson is hardly common among celebrities anywhere. He’s a scholar in Philosophy and World Religions at Trinity College, Dublin.
April 6!
Here’s Peter Dinklage on a Razor.

Your Grace, I learn Jack’s academic status beforehand, and to the fact that he prepared his speech/delivery a night or two before his presentation is something more commendable. He cites Max Weber, one of my favorite sociologists/social scientists (take that, Solis and Shia–you plagiarist scums!). I am truly amazed, Your Grace.

wangbumaximus21: So he talks Weber and Baudrillard and they ask him which GoT cast members he’d like to snog. Proving exactly what he said.
