Which gown should Althea Vega wear to the Baftas on February 16?
The fabulous and generous Ito Curata has made two gowns for actress Althea Vega, star of the British indie film Metro Manila. Althea is attending the British Academy Awards, the Baftas, on 16 February. Read about it here.
With any luck she’ll be walking the red carpet and getting photographed by the global media.
Here’s the earth-shaking question: Which gown should she wear, the red or the gold?
Althea thinks she should wear the gold gown. “Won’t I look like a floating head if I wear the red on the red carpet?” she says.
Our friends say: “Red, definitely. The red brings out the duskiness of her skin. Pag napicture-an siya, may dating ang red. Kebs kung red na ang carpet. Eh di magiging train niya ang carpet. Kanya na rin ang carpet.”
What do you think: Red or Gold? Post your choice in Comments.

based on the photos alone, the red one. the gold doesn’t even look “golden” just blah beige. the cut also appears to be better suited on the red.

The red one. Mas maganda ang bagsak. The gold one looks a bit stiff-ish below the knee and around the hemline. (Namintas pa).

I go for red! I actually forgot about the red carpet but the “Eh di magiging train niya ang carpet. Kanya na rin ang carpet.” is really the perfect answer why she should wear the red gown. I’m really very excited for her! I’m looking forward for future entries about her Baftas experience.

The gold one in a nod to the St. Laurent gold suits that Bruno Mars and the Hooligans wore to the Super Bowl Half-time show. Plus, palasak na ang red, and she wants to stand out, not blend in.

Definitely the red one. Love the hair and morena skin! Kiss Cumberbatch for me!

The gold dress is more elegant. Ganda.

Oh Red. Skin tone. Stands out. White crowd.

Yung Red ang suutin nya. Hindi naman sya puedeng lakarang maliban na lang kung nakahiga sya sa red carpet. Yung Gold naman baka upuan lang sya dahil mukhang pang upholstery ang material.

I like the gold one BUT I think the red might be better to bring out contrast against her skin tone. Plus, I think it may work better for picture-taking kasi while I like the gold, in the pics medyo nagbeblend sa skin nya…

Though gold is good, RED is ravishingly beautiful!

Definitely RED.

Red. Panalo sa kulay at kutis ni Althea!
Nagbungkal ako sa world wide web ng mga red dress on red carpet photos ng mga Hollywood stars, di naman sila na-okray kaya gora!

Her ‘red-on-red’ comment has merit. But, unless the two gowns can be spliced, I’d still go for red.
Blood over Gold!

RED. Wow!

Definitely the red dress. It would be great is someone can lend her a strand of golden south sea pearls. Paging Jewelmer.

Red! Mas bagay sa skin tone!

RED!

If she stands out in the red carpet wearing a red gown, it means bongga talaga sya, so I’m voting for red.

Red!

Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave) wore red at the Golden Globes and landed on Best Dressed lists. If Althea wears it the way Ms. Nyong’o did her Ralph Lauren number at the Golden Globes, she’ll be a stunner.
