I love Lilia Cuntapay. A couple of years back, I watched Six Degrees of Separation, and she was in the theater. I got a picture with her, and when I posted it on Facebook, it was the most liked pic I ever posted at that time. Almost a hundred. She has more fans than I realized, or at the very least, she’s that ingrained in our cultural consciousness. :)
Speaking of Lilia and her ultimate contributions, TV show Grimm is featuring an aswang in an episode, with the idea coming from one of its Filipino cast members (Reggie Lee, who I think was in Drag Me To Hell). Something to watch, although judging from that promo pic in the link below, they seem to have made it Nosferatu-like. I’m still all for the Lilia Cuntapay model – or Alma Moreno, Vangie Labalan, and Rez Cortez…
