The Last Twisted Sale Ever
Why do you need copies of Twisted?
(a) Your friend borrowed your copies years ago and never returned them.
(b) You packed them the last time you moved house and now you don’t remember which crate they’re in.
(c) They got Ondoyed/drowned in a flood.
(d) Your ex stole your copies. (It’s his/her/their one redeeming quality.)
(e) Your cats used your books as scratching posts.
(f) Your kids need to submit book reports on Filipino authors.
(g) You were insane enough to propose them as subjects for your thesis.
(h) You are writing a dissertation on World Domination.
(i) You want to reread the essays about Temptation Island, massacre movies, covering books in plastic, Goran Ivanisevic, bra sizes, Pinoy alternative rock, the grunge era, the guy whose nards got stuck in the holes in a monobloc chair, and cats before they took over the Internet.
(j) You want to give them to your friends who moved to the US/Canada/ANZ/Europe/Uranus and left their copies here (The Library of Babel delivers).
(k) You moved to the US/Canada/ANZ/Europe/Uranus and left your copies in the Philippines.
(l) You need unique coasters for your square-bottomed glasses.
(m) You’ve never read them.
(n) You need to get a present for someone at work and she/he seems the type who’d like them.
(o) You need material for a 1994-2007 time capsule.
(p) They’re cheap.
(q) You may be through with the past, but the past isn’t through with you till you get signed copies.

I need all eight. Actually, I need all the Twisted books. I had copies of all the volumes/versions before but lost them to the fire that burned our house last year (along with all the issues of Flip. Sigh.) Now I’m rebuilding my library. I haven’t bought any printed books yet and I think your books would be a great place to start.

gahernandezdvm: You had all the Flips? We have some in storage and can throw in a couple of issues when you buy the Twisted set. Let us know.

Is there any chance you can include Chicken Pox for the Soul in the sale, your grace?

Yes your highness. I bought all eight issues of Flip as soon as they came out. I even had two copies of the first issue (one was given for free when I bought a book somewhere I think). I also had the first two Manila Envelopes. I’ll be making the purchase sometime this week.

mentalflaws: Chicken Pox for the Soul went out of print years ago. After the first edition in hardcover ran out, it was reprinted in softcover, and then there were no more editions. Its publisher was Cacho Hermanos, which is gone. Sorry.

Oh, that’s why I can’t find the book. I’ve been looking for a copy for months. My hopes of finding CPFTS went up when I found copy of Twisted 1 at Hillstation in Baguio. But even there, CPFTS is still unavailable. It’s an unfortunate thing that I wasn’t yet aware of your awesomeness the time of the book’s publication añd reprinting.

Wow, I just saw this. This is so cool. I went to your book signing at Powerbooks Megamall in 2005 when Tw7sted was released. I brought all my books (Twisted 1-4 and 6 because I loaned 5 to a friend, Womenagerie, and even Fast Food Fiction where you had a short story). Since you had quite a lot to sign, we ended up talking and you asked if I was still in school. I told you I was a senior in high school and couldn’t decide on what to take in UP. You told me not to take creative writing and choose between journalism and comparative lit instead. I ended up majoring in journ with some comparative lit electives. Never got to thank you for the advice.
