The worst flu we’ve ever had
Wednesday night we felt a heaviness in our joints.
Thursday we had a fever that wouldn’t go away.
Friday we felt as if we were being roasted.
Saturday the thought of eating anything at all made us nauseous.
Sunday we could not stay awake.
This is absolutely the worst case of influenza we’ve ever had.

Did you get the flu vaccine for this year? I can’t even remember the last time I had the flu in my adult life. I get the vaccine annually because it’s recommended for all adults and required for all medical personnel by the CDC. The dominant strain changes every year so the flu vaccine is formulated according to the ones that will likely be the top 3 statistically for the next season. They are still developing the super-vaccine that can attack all flu strains by having our immune system be introduced to the antigen (the stalk of the receptor) that’s common to all of them instead of the head that easily changes. We’ll probably just have to get one to three doses of it for our lifetime just like with most vaccines when it becomes available.

I wish we had one for the Philippines but microbes don’t recognize national boundaries in this day and age so it’s applicable to everybody for the most part.

Enjoy resting and sleeping. It’s the body’s way of telling us to stay put while it does some repair and tune up. Get well soon! And maybe stay away from Game of Thrones until you’ve fully recovered. :)
