Was it difficult breaking into the literary world as an Asian woman? Do you feel that you’re/you’ve been cornered into a particular genre because you’re Asian?
The reason why I’m asking is because I remember a story about J.K. Rowling being asked to use her initials instead of her real name to make her more marketable as an author. Has being a woman and Asian made you feel you had to put in more work to break in?

Have you always wanted to front a band? Who recruited you for the Rock Bottom Remainders? Will you be part of the reunion next year in the Tucson Festival of Books? Are there any plans of touring outside of the US?
