Drogon is 5! This week he is The Oracle.
It’s Drogon’s birthday! (I assigned the date because I don’t know exactly when he was born—it’s also the birthday of Koosi, the first cat who adopted me.) Drogon likes sitting at windows and watching the outside world. Unlike our eldest cat Saffy who is antisocial, he enjoys visiting his human’s friends on their movie nights. These days he plays tag around the house with our new cat, Jacob.
Drogon is also a ferocious hunter, with skills he seldom gets to practice as an indoor cat. The other night I noticed him sitting in the bathroom for a long time, staring unblinkingly at the wall. The following morning there was a broken dish by the sink, books fallen off the table, and in the center of the room, a small cockroach corpse. All hail the fearless hunter!

Kapitbahay: When I first moved in, everyone assumed I was a regular pusakal. Then Juan saw a picture online of a cat who looked exactly like me. Turns out I am a Khao Manee, a prized breed from Thailand that was only recently accepted by the cat fanciers association. I am extremely sociable and easy to care for. It is not true that all blue-eyed white cats are deaf. I can hear a can of Fancy Feast being opened from a great distance. Also I like music.

Do you think I should rush a novel for this one literary writing competition due at the end of the month or just wait it out next, next year when the category is open again? I have a plot, a climax, and an ending with a chapter in. Also can you accompany me while I write? I promise there will be music for cats and treats.

Happy birthday Drogon! My cats here in Laguna (Miming, Abby, Ampon, Dagul, Digong and Katniss), as well as my cats in Iloilo (Babushcka, Purronica and Mister Tuxedomask) send their love.
I saw a small dead snake in front of my gate in Iloilo the other day. Could my cats have killed it, knowing their adopted human is afraid of snakes?
Nevertheless, I vow to always feed them whenever I’m there. I am not able to stay there for more than two weeks each month as work requires me to travel the rest of the Visayas.

Yes, we sometimes show our appreciation by bringing dead prey to our humans. Maybe you can leave dry cat food with the neighbors so they can feed the cats when you’re away?

I don’t know, but I’ve been feeding him for two years now. He’s still a street cat who just goes “home” everyday. He’s also a Khao Manee with a bent tail and several scars from fights with other tomcats. I like to think of him as a grizzled old former alpha
