Love and Friendship is the cattiest film ever based on Jane Austen’s work
It’s hilarious!
Lady Susan: The fees at Frederica’s school are too high to even think of paying. So, in a sense, it’s an economy!
Later,
Lady Susan: She says she must think of her school’s reputation.
Reginald de Courcy: Preposterous. I’ve never heard of her school.
I think Tita Jane Austen would love it. It’s made me realize how Austenian The Last Days of Disco is.

I took a day off from work to see this movie. I had been itching to see this Whit Stillman film for so long. It was nice to see a reunion of three folks who worked on Last Days of Disco.
I wonder if this will ever see any home video release other than Amazon streaming?

volume-addict: Strange things are happening. Love and Friendship was actually in the top ten on the week of its theatrical release. A Whit Stillman movie! And The Cosmopolitans is still happening.
In any case we can count on a Criterion Collection release.

Looking forward to this in cinemas. And Hell or High Water.
