Fairy Tale theatre
Contemporary visual art that actually aspires to the condition of beauty: What a shocking concept. It’s so old school it’s practically revolutionary.
This painting just stopped me in my tracks.
Children in a forest, holding up masks. Those expressions on their faces, the otherworldly setting—there’s a story in here. Is Yasmin Sison into fairy tales, I asked?
Turns out the exhibit is entitled Into The Woods. It’s gorgeous.
On the floor: Objects pulled from the throats of finches.
Forest animals with human expressions—or people under an enchantment, forced to live as woodland fauna?
Who cast the spell?
And this yarn thing with a little chair on top. I don’t know what it is but I want it.
Into the Woods, new paintings by Yasmin Sison, is presented by Finale Art File at the SM Megamall Art Center. The exhibit opened last week and will run until November 15.
