Did the spelling police order it?
Wait a minute, I am the spelling police, and I don’t recall ordering the new Quentin Tarantino movie Inglourious Basterds pulled out of Metro Manila theatres for misleading schoolchildren about orthography. Kids don’t need Quentin Tarantino to ruin their spelling skills: texting will take care of that.
A few days ago a reader reported that Inglourious Basterds, which was slated to open last week in Metro Manila theatres, did not screen as scheduled. Had it been banned? I asked my MTRCB contact about the non-showing, and he said he had no knowledge of this development. However, another friend whose office had scheduled a screening of Inglourious Basterds confirmed that it has been pulled out of theatres. No explanation was given.
What happened? Did the exhibitor decide to cancel the theatrical exhibition? Did theatre owners get uncomfortable about the violence onscreen? Anyone know?

No dramatic reason. Heard UIP and the cinemas couldn’t agree on terms. MTRCB already approved the movie for exhibition.

Now I have no choice but to watch 2012 with my friends.
Wait, no, I could just stay at home and decoupage things until they can allow a screening. *crossing fingers for a UPFI screening*
