Aartpark
We went to Art at the Park at sundown, when there was less risk of spontaneous combustion.
Geraldine Javier was helping out at the Tin-Aw booth. “There’s a Geraldine Javier selling for under P20,000?” I asked. Yes, there was—an assemblage that was snapped up long before we got there.
One of the most interesting booths featured Estilo Boholano urna, kulit sa papan, relleves or tryptichs—new interpretations of religious art from the Spanish colonial period, made from recycled old molave wood. (Inquiries: lmnunag@amarelaresort.com.) They’re not antiques, although they look old. (A friend saw this sign on the way to Tagaytay: “Tayaban Antique Shop. Made to Order.”)
Best time to have Art in the Park: during an almost-full moon.

Made to order antiques: They must have time-traveling employees or those phones/shortwave radios featured in Moments of Love/Frequency do exist…
