First principles, Clarice. . .
Suppose Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay is the next vice president of the Philippines. Vice president being a largely ceremonial spare tire position, he or she is usually appointed by the president to a cabinet post. Gabe Mercado has this suggestion to incoming President Noynoy Aquino: Have Mayor Binay head a Special Commission to prosecute the outgoing President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
As a friend pointed out, it would have a sort of ‘Hannibal Lecter, FBI Consultant’ quality to it.

Forgive me, but for some reason I misread “Clarice” as “Charice” – and considering the picture and the reference to Silence of the Lambs, that would’ve come out so, so wrong.

Now I have an idea where the word ‘jejemon” came from. I wonder if it’s true that Mr. Binay’s name came from the combination of Jesus,Jose and Maria (the holy family). Other than that, why on earth would any parent name their kid “Jejomar”? He must have endured countless teasing from his peers as a growing boy.

Franzi,
Would you prefer “Susmaryosep” (Jesus Maria Joseph)?

That would be SO appropriate…
