Backlash
Everywhere I look I see the Anya Hindmarch “I am not a plastic bag” bag. In the bookstore. In restaurants. In the queue at the supermarket. On the sidewalk, waiting for a taxi. In stalls at the tiangge. I’ve seen more Not A Plastic Bags than were actually produced by the Anya Hindmarch people. It’s so popular, so ubiquitious, any minute now the backlash will start. I already have a slogan for a bag: “I AM a plastic bag. Reduce your carbon footprint. DIE.”

I use plastic bags. I never believed in the “global warming” scam, anyway. ;)
At jeg: That is absolutely surreal, like a Magritte painting of a pipe wherein he wrote the words “This is not a pipe” in French. :D

At least there are spoof bags that say “I’m not a plastic fag”. It’ll make you look at those bags every time to see if anyone of those are “plastic fags”.

ubiquitous bags you say… now hear this… have you browsed Natasha/nathaniel’s brochures? there’s this brown shirt with orange print. ‘WI” on the front and “LD’ at the back… it’s a ‘WILD’shirt. my day isn’t complete if i haven’t seen one… which is very rare… even in manila, tagaytay and mindoro i’ve seen these WILD shirts… and i think i am getting hypnotized by seeing it frequently, i might buy myself one. hahaha! must… restrain… myself… must… restrain…

People in Philippines: this was originally made for the purpose of “saving the earth” and not for PA-CUTE purposes, guys, get real!
Here in Belgium, people are practicing “saving the earth” stuff by not really using plastic bags, that is walking out of the stores carrying groceries with their hands or if you got loads take a carton box or using the same “not plastic bag” over and over again (where customer gets points, complicated to explain, we don’t parctice it in Pinas). Nakaka wala ng porma, di ba? No, they are real, GET REAL PEOPLE!!!!!

I will start a shirt with the tag ” I am not plastic” or “I am plastic” if you are well. plastic but it will be made of well cloth and will be based solely on the purchasers personality.

how about ‘ I am not a self righteous, up my own arse prat’. wait, ANY public proclamation of what one is not ALWAYS makes you a prat.
What’s the point of “saving the earth” anyway– one look at the average American’s lifestlye will make you give up hope altogether.

I thankfully don’t see these bags in real life.
In some stores abroad I think the customers are encouraged to bring their own recycled plastic or paper bags to reduce the use of more plastic bags. I would love to see more environment friendly moves here instead of posers trying to make pa-cute…
