Tsonga
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga just booked his place in the Australian Open final, destroying Rafael Nadal 6-2, 6-3, 6-2. Those biceps! It looks like he’s actually physically stronger than Rafa! Tomorrow’s semifinal pits Roger Federer against Novak Djokovic. Now Choke-ovich has been playing very well and The Fed has played just enough to win, but that is the whole point. Roger’s game is so complete, he doesn’t even have to play at maximum strength every time, he only has to win.
“I have to say a novena,” Mike declared.
“For a Federer fan you have very little faith,” I said. “I have accepted that he doesn’t need me, he’s going to win anyway.”
“The novena’s not for Roger,” said Mike, who never watches a match unless he already knows who won. “It’s for me. These matches give me ulcers.”

It’s all about the faith ain’t it? I have a feeling that the eventual champion won’t be coming from the winner of the Federer-Djokovic match. This Tsonga kid is just having a real wild streak at the Aussie Open with fearless shotmaking that has made a lot of one slam wonders in the past.

No spoiler warning eh? In any case, I’m rooting for Djokovic.

I saw Tsonga’s match with Youzhny and thought here’s a player to watch (good+hotttt). Although my heart belongs to Rafa, I was ready to root for Jo because he was obviously the underdog. But then last night was just incredible tennis for this absolute nobody. Wow. I’m now firmly on the Tsonga love train. Alleeeeeeez!
And Jim Courier is the greatest tennis commentator ever.

I feel so much remorse! Was rushing to the outer courts to watch Grosjean’s doubles match but when we got there, the match was finished. Grosjean and his partner lost and he was nowhere to be seen. His doubles partner was none other than Tsonga who was still hanging out. We completely ignored him and now he’s in the finals. I can’t believe it!

Is it just me or does Tsonga really look like Muhammad Ali?
