New adventures in calories
Our missing friend has reappeared, bearing new inventions.
First he offered us these chocolate confections. “Are they nuts?” I asked. He said, “Taste them.”
I took one bite and noted the delightful clash of flavors and textures. . .Chocolate-covered chicharon! Brilliant!
“What are you calling this?” we asked.
“I don’t know,” said Carlo. “Chocoritos? Chocharon?”
“I think they should be called Noel Orosa,” declared Noel Orosa.
For dessert we had another new invention, the cake version of his Rickoise cookies. It’s a mint and chocolate cake—like a rum cake, except that it’s mint.
This is the perfect date cake. True, it looks like a fat caterpillar, but you can go straight from dessert to kissing.

Curious as to how the chocolate-covered chicharon tastes. And the mint and choco cake does look like a fat caterpillar.
