Libros, livros, livres, libri, books! Aklat!
It just occurred to me: the Tagalog word for book is ‘aklat’ and the Tagalog word for revolt/protest is ‘aklas’.
The winners of the Historical Figure-Mythical Monster Mash-Up will be announced tomorrow at lunchtime.

My take on “aklas” is “umaklas” (“umalis”) or “tumiwalag,” meaning to get away from; to separate. Therefore, also, to rebel or to revolt.
A possibly better “aklat” association is “buklat!” There is the suf-alliteration and onomatopoeic pa.
Nice blog, btw.
