Random snapshots of my week
Ricky didn’t have a vase for the eucalyptus so he put them in a briefcase.
Ige appears to be auditioning for Hamlet. The following day he shaved.
I bought this tote bag for 100 pesos at Aldevinco in Davao.
Rene was looking for Theodore Rex, the biography of Teddy Roosevelt. It was no longer available, but these biographies were. We lined them up to find the answer to the question, Which of these historical figures is the cutest?
Jay is describing a nefarious stratagem used by cellphone thieves on the MRT. Strangely, he is smiling.
The five prosecco cocktails I had at Cibo this afternoon in aid of research. Prosecco is like an Italian version of champagne. From left to right: Mimosa (orange juice), Plum Bellini, Mango Bellini, Rossini (strawberry), and Tiziano (grape).
All Noel wanted was a glass of the house red, but the waiter said it wasn’t Cabernet, it was a mixture of Cabernet Vallformosa Tempranillo tienes tienes tienes. It was complicated. I ordered cider.

There’s also that picture of Hitler sans mustache and with blonde hair. It’s actually disturbingly attractive.

as for the cutest historical figures —— me thinks it’s a three way fight among FIDEL, CHE and STALIN. all of them got that certain look that exudes ” cariño brutal. ” malupit na mabait is how you’d describe these men who helped shape the 20th century. JOSEPH STALIN, however, is the most charismatic. Watching old old videos of him made me understand why the soviets fell under his spell despite his excesses.

I just realized. Stalin kinda looks like Prince (that is, the artist formerly known as the symbol I do not know how to enter) in that cover!

Seeing an image of Che always reminds me of a story my close friend told me. She was at a RockEd gig in Iloilo when she saw a guy wearing a Che Guevara T-shirt. Just for kicks she approached the guy and asked him if he knew who the person in his T-shirt was. The guy looked at my friend and with wide-eyed confidence he answered (in the vernacular of course), “Who? This guy? Are you kidding? This is Che! He’s really cool! He’s in a ROCK BAND!” My friend looked at the guy, smiled and said, “I thought so. I think you need another beer.”

Young Leon Trotsky looks a bit like Roger Federer, too.
