Over lunch Bernard-Henri mentioned that the most famous Filipino composer of his generation is…someone we’d rather not mention at lunchtime.
That’s when it occurred to us that in the category of coolness we will always win the most-famous-Filipino-composer-of-our-generation competition, no matter whose generation is being discussed hahahahaha.
We spotted Ely’s ad for a hair product last week. “Uuyyyy hair model. Why not an underwear billboard?” He had a zinger for that, which is unprintable, unfortunately.

My question: When you were told that you would need to undergo a major surgical procedure, what was going through your mind?
Kuwento lang: In the late ’90s, nakita ka namin ng friend ko na naglalakad malapit sa Sunken Garden. Pasimple kong sinabi sa friend ko na ikaw yata yun at gusto ko sanang lumapit para magpa-autograph at lumandi. Ngunit pinigilan niya ako at sinabing hindi raw ikaw yun.
Later that same day, nakita namin yung kaklase ko na kakilala mo. Tapos sinabi niya na nandun ka nga raw sa Sunken Garden.
At dahil dyan, pinatay ko ang aking kaibigan. Sa isip lang pero parang gusto ko talagang totohanin that time.
