Yearend rituals: Mmff!

Stonehenge reminds us Merlin, Tess of the D’Urbervilles, and Spinal Tap. He is believed to have transported the stones by magic, she was arrested there, they had that gag.
Every year at this time we reread our favorite fantasy novel The Once and Future King by T.H. White. Accept no substitutes. We have three copies of the T.H. White, all of them oogly paperbacks. We saw a recent reissue that isn’t much prettier. We’re still waiting for an edition worthy of the text, i.e. an illuminated manuscript bound in soft leather.

We’re off to see Asiong Salonga and Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow at the MMFF. What an appropriate acronym, it’s like the sound one makes when forced to consume something vile and putrid. Mmmfff!
We’ve always wondered why afterwards people feel compelled to say nice things about their rotten experience. We have no such qualms, which is why we volunteer for these gigs.

Merry Christmas… and, in this case, bring on the caffeine!
YTT sounds like my kind of ham-and-cheesefest: Carla Abellana playing a floozy, Solenn Heusaff dressing up like one, and Maricel Soriano unleashing her Method skills (or are they?) by slapping and screaming at people like it’s for real. But Gabby gets to play Maria’s ex, so… yay?
Asiong Salonga, on the other hand? Bring out the carving knives.
