Going to Cebu
Accessories for cat people, as if we need more reminders of our cats when their fur is all over our clothes: eyeglass case, Ricky’s pasalubong from France; three cats on two fingers ring, present from Brewhuh; cat watch by Kid Robot for Swatch; cat ring with moving paws from a cat-themed store in HK; black and white cat earrings, Jeffrey’s pasalubong from Japan.
We will be in Cebu this weekend for the Vaseline Men XTERRA competition. Of course we’re not participating, are you insane. We’re not into blazing sunshine, sweat and activities that require physiotherapists. However we are happy to report on same, as long as we get to travel.
Tomorrow we’re checking into the Crimson Resort and Spa in Mactan. We will be free from around 5pm, and plan on going to SM City to check out Forever 21 (their branch is bigger and better than the ones in Metro Manila). Sunday we’re covering the event then flying home after lunch.
Anyone here from Cebu? Could you recommend places where we can find interesting accessories, esp earrings?

Wuh-waaaaiiiit – a bigger and better Forever 21 branch in Cebu? AIIIIEEEE *trolls Cebu Pacific website for Piso Fares*
Not much on the recommendations front, since we were at Plantation Bay the last time I was there (seriously, I’m still gobsmacked by the references to Dune and LOTR for their guest rooms… and the Alcatraz Conference Room, haha) and could not remember where else we went on the main island except for the Lapu-Lapu monument, the Cross of Magellan, and the guitar factory, but I’m wishing you an awesome time in Cebu nonetheless.

Ages ago we had to shoot a TV show in Cebu. We had two choices: the Shangri-La or Plantation Bay. Teddy-Wan Kenobi rejected the Shang because supposedly a little boy had died and was haunting the place, knocking on doors and asking, “Are you my mommy?” Then he rejected Plantation Bay because the lake is man-made and lumot grows on the floor, making it slippery so you can slip and drown in one foot of water if you’re really unlucky. Our producer rolled her eyeballs. We shot at Plantation Bay, where the buildings are named after former colonies.
