Titanic: not a sequel (And now a contest!)
We’re going to the preview of James Cameron’s Titanic in 3D tonight. To refresh our memory we dug up our original review of Titanic (compiled in Twisted 4: The Twisted Menace). Ooh mocking and disdainful. Will we change our mind?
We have no memory of DiCaprio announcing he was bisexual; it may have been a rumor that was going around at the time.

Aargh remember those radio remixes of the love song from Titanic? Bad enough that Celine Dion was shredding our eardrums but DJs tossed in bits of movie dialogue:
“Jack!”
“Rose!”

“Glug glug glug glug…” Okay we imagined this last line but it might’ve improved the mix.

The one thing I clearly remember about the Titanic is the nakakarinding My Heart will go on of Celine Dion with matching inserts of the exchanges between Di Caprio and Winslet.
Also, I vividly remember that when I watched this with my friends, this one guy who just got out of the movie theater exclaimed, “Ay sayang namatay si Leonardo!”. My friends wanted to slit his throat hahaha!

@Brewhuh: The only thing worse than that is the one with the Filipino overdubs of said dialogues between Leo and Kate. Yes, that version exists.
I still tell my parents that I don’t want to watch it “dahil kahit na anong version ang panoorin mo eh lulubog pa rin naman yung barko.”

I saw this when I was 15 and swooned with my friends. 15 years later I catch it on Star World and it’s like — they waste two hours with Kate and Leo chasing each other all over the damn boat! Let it sink already!
Although, wow, Leo was really a beauty back in the day.

Kung hinde, wala akong pag-asang makarating sa Amireka.
Masyado ka kasing lapitin sa babae. Na-akit mo lahat ng matrona at dalaga sa Titanic. May pa-drowing drowing ka pa ha. Boti naitago ko ang idrinowing mong larawan ko para may remimbrans din ako sa iyo.
Tutal at nalunod ka naman daw at nakita kong luha-an ang malanding Rose na yan, pinalitan na kita. Kame na ni Ser Bennett kasi di ko namalayan na si Mam pala iyong akala kong tuntungan sa tubig noong nagkakagulo na sa paglikas sa barko. Ayun nalunod din sya, sori po Mam.
