Koosi is 13! Today she is The Oracle.
Felicitations and salutations, O Mighty Goddess Bast (Koosi). Today She is taking questions from you mortals on any subject you care to cover. Post your questions in Comments and she will answer you in the course of the day.
Bear in mind that you may be outsourcing an important decision that could alter the course of your future…to a very snooty cat.
Koosi will answer questions until midnight.

Happy birthday to one of the most beautiful cats in the world. Enjoy your day, Koosi!!!
April 12th, 2012 at 09:18
a very trivial question: Is it my eyes or memory playing trick on me or did you change the background of this site, from white to a li’l creamy? Sorry, I’m an OC, I think.
April 12th, 2012 at 09:39
Happy birthday Koosi. I love your luxurious fur.
April 12th, 2012 at 09:49
Happy birthday, lovely Koosi! May you enjoy all of your lives!
Question: I used to have a rat problem at my boarding house in Diliman. Since the rats did not seem to be bothering the other tenants, I took care of it by cleaning up after myself and baiting said rodents with Racumin. The person who takes care of the house, on the other hand, thinks that this would never have happened if the cats who owned the neighborhood “did their job” of chasing after the vermin. Is it fair to blame the cats, or are the humans in denial over the situation?
(For what it’s worth, I also took care of that problem by moving out of the house and going into UP Housing. And even then, I hope that I don’t have to buy Racumin for our dorm room.)

O One Who is Treacherous as the Sea and Stronger Than the Foundations of the Earth, I beg your counsel.
I have recently engaged in a power struggle and I have somewhat emerged victorious. I have more or less established that I am a force in my own right. The problem however is that in the process of defending myself I have alienated or caused fear among the fence sitters. They now speak to me with much courtesy for fear that they might offend me. I did not want this to happen yet I also know I could not revert to the way I was with them. The lines have been redrawn and the hierarchy shaken. Is this the consequence of displaying strength and power? I have secured my position but at the cost of certain intimacies and the resultant weakening of ties. How can I have power and grace?
April 12th, 2012 at 10:21
Koosi, you are simply marvelous. I am not worthy.
Can I still shift careers even if I am already 30 years old? I want to resign from my current job but my life plans are so fuzzy. How can I have a clearer vision of what it is I want to do in life?

It is the proper diet and the brushy-brushy. We do not eat human food for it lacks the nutrients we require. Feh on tuna for humans!
Our slaves brush our fur regularly to keep it shiny. Next!

How dare this “person who takes care of the house” imply that the cats have been slothful!! We felines may not be held responsible for their slovenly housekeeping. They are filthy! Filtheeeeeee!!
Unless the rats are enormous flypaper is quite efficient for catching them, and one need not sprinkle poison around the house where it might be ingested by pets and small children.
Do not keep food in your room as it draws rodents and roaches.

To the chronicler of boredom
In Filipino society there is one way to seal all deals, effect reconciliations and restore lost bonhomie. Feed the people! A surprise merienda of cake, ice cream or pancit should say what one needs to say.
Rulers must be generous.

O mighty goddess Bast! To thee I owe my never-ending gratitude! If anything, the rat situation has also cured me of my addiction to the vermin-bait that is Lucky Me Pancit Canton.
Many felicitations to thee, and to thy golden-haired peers who rule over the humans at the university.

Hail to the Goddess!
What do you think of the mortals who also were born on this day?

O Clawed, Wise One:
I am saving up for an expensive work implement (it’s an investment), and I’m halfway to the target goal. How should I remain frugal and resist temptations like fancy dinners, summer trips, and cab fares?

I’m a month pregnant today, what would our child be? A boy or a girl?

Furry Birthday Koosi!!
My question: who is your favorite character in A Song of Ice and Fire series (I refuse to call it Game of Thrones series because you know very well it’s not) and what was your reaction to the Red Wedding from A Storm of Swords? Did you see that coming?
Thank you! Enjoy your birthday treats :)
April 12th, 2012 at 14:13
I’m a dog person but I must say you look very nice Koosi. Happy birthday :)
Question: When a person is a commitment-phobe, how does he find happiness?
April 12th, 2012 at 16:06
Happy Birthday Koosi! You look like my cat, Miming (bisayan word ng kitten- bisaya pala ako), when I was 7 years old. I loved her as if she was my world at that tender age. . but when she died (due to an accident) I was really in pain and crying all my heart out but no one understood me, tinawanan pa ako. I was so devastated that never again would I own any pet.. ever!
That brings me to my dilemma right now (refer to Auntie Janey No. 47 Adultery). I am already on the acceptance phase of my situation. Thanks to Auntie Janey and to the commentors for giving such straightforward replies.
Meron lang akong isang problema, the ‘other man’ is nagpaparamdam na naman. Although nasa acceptance phase na ako, pero hindi pa ako nauntog sa kanya, hindi pa ako ganun ka devastated to say ‘never again’.
Although I guess he just wants us to be friends again (kasi friends naman talaga kami dati),I don’t trust myself with him anymore.
Should I resign na lang kaya? I have a very nice job and I fear I won’t be able to
find a job that I love.
Ano kayang puwede kong gawin para matapos na etong paghihirap ko Koosi….pastilan jud!
April 12th, 2012 at 16:07
Koosi the mighty one, a kitty adopted my roommate a couple of months ago. The cat has not been trained and poops on the bathroom floor. What do I do to make her do her business somewhere else (i.e. the garden we don’t use)?
April 12th, 2012 at 18:08
Oh mighty goddess, Koosi… when will North Korea’s leaders stop being such pains in the ass and feed their starving population instead of hurtling a possibly defective rocket/satellite/whatever it is they want to launch into space?
Also, should I buy a Playstation 3 or Playstation Vita?
April 12th, 2012 at 18:20
Your Radiance,
Instead of giving food I have decided to sing in our team building socials tonight. Giving cake is out of the question since they all brought their spouses and children. I shall sing and dance in the tradition of Filipino politicians.
Thank you and Happy Birthday!

Erm, hello Cat. Tried asking friends about this. Might as well ask a non-human. Significant other and I have been together 5 years. S.O. lives elsewhere (fine, outside the country). I was planning on chucking the job here so we can be together there. Then I find out S.O.’s “considering options” in a third country. I feel slighted that I wasn’t consulted, and even if S.O. wants to “take” me “along,” who says I want to go? Working a few years in country #2 ain’t so bad (especially if it means I can afford to travel more and travel often), but settling down in country #3 is out of the question. What is the best course of action, Cat? I am committed to S.O. but I feel like there’s a disconnect in the level of devotion somewhere.
Oh and by the way, happy birthday.

Happy Birthday Koosi.
I just heard a poem/prayer to a cat by the poet Christopher Smart. I thought I would offer it to you for consideration.
Jubilate Agno, Fragment B (For I will consider my cat Jeoffry)
For he is the servant of the Living God, duly and daily serving him.
For at the first glance of the glory of God in the East he worships in
his way.
For is this done by wreathing his body seven times round with elegant
quickness.
For he keeps the Lord’s watch in the night against the adversary.
For he is of the tribe of Tiger.
For he purrs in thankfulness when God tells him he’s a good Cat.
For he is an instrument for the children to learn benevolence upon.
For every house is incomplete without him, and a blessing is lacking in
the spirit.
For he is the cleanest in the use of his forepaws of any quadruped.
For he is the quickest to his mark of any creature.
For there is nothing sweeter than his peace when at rest.
For there is nothing brisker than his life when in motion.
For by stroking of him I have found out electricity.
Lines from “Jubilate Agno, Fragment B [For I will consider my Cat Jeoffry]” by Christopher Smart. Public Domain.
May your birthday be full of kibbles and bits.

Before kittens poop they scratch the floor. The next time the kitten goes to the bathroom, pick her up, take her to the garden and point her to the place where she should relieve herself. If she needs further clues, dig in the dirt and let her sniff it.

happy birthday, koosi! you are beautiful. that necklace is a nice touch too.
while reading your responses, 2 things dawned on me:
1. it’s like auntie janey (in terms of giving good, blunt advice)
2. this would be perfect on twitter. you should be on it.
my question: what’s the best way or best thing to say when i don’t want to answer someone’s impertinent questions and still stay nice?

Since it’s your birthday and I know your human loves tennis, would you like me to submit a tip, a link that will lead you to a site with an ATP player from Canada? Do you know Pierre-Ludovic Duclos?
According to wiki – the ever reliable wiki, Pierre-Ludovic is the highest ranked singles and doubles player of Canada. Well recently he self-submitted himself to a site, self-submission meaning he submitted nude photos of himself. Well it’s totally NSFW but I’m sure the baklas like myself will love the photos.
So here it is, just in case you’re interested, well you’re 13 so this is totally R-18 and not for you, but the photos might be good for your human and the baklas.
