   Since it is so dusty in tropical Philippines, the minimum requirement is that any book cases here must be glazed (or have wooden doors).

   This makes some of these design ideas cute, but a bit impractical for local conditions.

   I love the stairway idea. :) Not too sure about the floor one, though. Unless it had a “lid” or “cover,” I’m not too comfortable with the idea of stepping on my books! :)

   i love the staircase idea… but sadly, hindi ito advisable sa akin because of the lizards that we have!! Arrrg, horrors!!! (siguro it would work kung may glass slide covers =)

   I’d fall off those stairs looking for a book I want. I’ll settle for wall-to-wall bookcases.

   @iamjoyeux: When I read “lizards”, my skin crawled. I hate them and would try to avoid them at any chance I have. I would cry in utter helplessness and disgust if I will see them sticking on my books.

   @butoygirl: picture this scenario; salespersons tend to avoid helping me because I refused to be helped. I have been known to freeze any individual who crossed my path. I am, oftentimes, rude, crude and frank. My hubby says I am an arrogant sonofabiatch when I am on a roll thus making me look ten feet tall. That said; a lizard suddenly crawls and I am back again being 5 years old and crying for mommy (or whomever is available)… =)
