I only started reading the books last year when HBO announced the series. I was hooked right away, which says a lot because I’m very picky when it comes to fantasy books (I read and loved Tolkien way back when I was in HS and therefore can be quite snobbish towards all the crap that passes for fantasy these days).
Can’t wait for A Game of Thrones to air. Here’s hoping GRRM finally releases A Dance of Dragons too, now that his books are getting added attention.

I quit reading midway through the 2nd book. George RR Martin does like twisting your heart a bit too much. I stick with Robert Jordan.

Yup – tip when reading RR Martin: Don’t invest too much emotion in his characters. :p hehe.
