Alphabet review: The Mistress
Obviously The Mistress starring John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo is criticism-proof so we decided to entertain ourselves instead. Here’s our review (after Edward Gorey’s The Deadly Blotter): 26 words about The Mistress, in alphabetical order.
Alonzo, Bea, coincidentally does errant father, garrulous heir.
Incidentally, John-Lloyd knows.
Lachrymose. Moments: nice. Overall: patchy. Quotidian. Reassuringly safe. Quo, Reaffirms status. Quarrels, reunions. Safe.
Transgression?? Ultimately, virtue. Whatever excites your zygotes.

And never mind if you didn’t do “Q”.

hahaha galeng!
i’ve only seen the trailer. she didn’t strike me as the Mistress right away. i thought she was the victim. not enough self confidence when being pursued by john lloyd.

Oops, “Quotidian” disappeared in the edit. Restored.

Natutuwa akong panuorin ang mga taong nakapila sa ticket booth ng movie na to at sabi ko sa sarili ko ” MGA ISTUPIDONG MOVIEGOERS” habang tinitinganan ko mga mukha nilang mga istupido.
Try It …Its Fun!!!!

2 thumbs up on that review of the trailer, cheezmiss!! some women (as you’ve noted) will want to watch it because they fantasize about being pursued that way by a psycho-stalker only they won’t think he’s a psycho-stalker but a romantic. and yes, it’s very sad.

Given the price of going to the movies these days, it is but reasonable to assume that most of those who lined up (and there are a lot) to see the movie may have some sort of employment and therefore might be of average intelligence. But that’s just me. There might be some who, when administered an intelligence test may score borderline or even below that, but nevertheless, it is totally in bad taste, if not indecent, to call anybody stupid. After all, there but for the grace of God, goes all of us.
Ms. Jessica, thank you for the alphabet review. I’m still trying to figure out what you meant by “criticism-proof” though. It will come to me at some point.

@swanoepel wow. hiyang hiya naman ako sa’yo. how’s the weather up there?
re the movie: typical star cinema family melodrama. damang dama ko yung effort na linisin yung character ni bea. would’ve been more interesting if she was just in love with ronaldo without that backstory.

I can’t decide whether “excites” is brilliant or naughty.
