Like a fever
Ambient temperature in Metropolitan Manila: 39 degrees Celsius. That’s a fever. If your temperature is 39 degrees you get to skip school and stay in bed. My systems shut down and refused to do anything lest they generate more heat.
We spotted this sign at the entrance to the Ayala/Edsa underpass. I thought I was seeing things in the frizzling heat, so I looked again.
What is this?
a) a tribute to the former head of Singapore
b) a pun/a riff
c) the Metro Manila Development Authority being cute
d) a mirage, like the desert visions induced by heat, thirst, and hunger in Temptation Island.
On our way home we saw this window display.
Didn’t know store displays were so interesting late at night. Or maybe it was just too hot inside the shop.

LOL. Few people are as in love with… uhm… cross-language puns as we Pinoys are.
Oh, and I love the window display. Manila is getting to be sooo progressive, no? If that window had been in the US, a family-values-conservative-save-our-children lynch mob would’ve formed in front of the store in 2 seconds flat. :)

Amusing anecdotes… made me smile a bit despite my splitting headache :)

These are signs that the world is going crazy.
LIKUAN U > probably text message format for U-Turn or pa-sosi’s version of saying you should turn here, a.k.a. “turn u dito.”
Half-naked male manequin > People have become so annoying hyped up about being politically correct that even manequins need to have some form of/semblance of having genitals. I just want to know, though: What is it’s purpose?
p.s. I really love your articles. I’m a big fan. =)
