Wish my sis saved my books. Unforunately, she threw all the soaked ones out. Interesting to note though, she saved the twilight book (yes… I’m a nitwit for having the book…in my defense I had it before all the hype… Thought the cover was nice and the book was cheap!) that was on the bottom of all my book series! Thankfully, the Edgar allan Poe illustrated hardbound book I just bought was spared.
I am torn between The Picture of Dorian Gray and a book on humor. Dorian Gray is said to be the last book on goth in its era and also the lone novel by Oscar Wilde that was published. I have not finished reading it, but memorizing it would be fun in order to save it from extinction. It has an intriguing plot as well which combines homosexuality, narcissism among other themes. I was also reading The Psychology of Laughter (the author’s name escapes me now). I am so into humor studies that’s why. This book explains humor and laughter very well. After a deluge, we would surely need to cultivate laughter again.
I’m going to try this on my LOTR 50th Anniversary Edition. Hopefully it works. I cried no end when I came back from vacation and saw my precious book soaking wet.
