I’ve been away for eight days, which means enough stuff has happened in Manila to fill three novels. What’s going on? Anything great? Anything really ugly? The only news I get from home is related to my cats (They are perfect and antisocial, meaning they are exactly the same although I imagine they miss me).
Please update me on the rumors and actual occurrences of the past week in Manila, and when I get home I’ll send you a postcard.

– The president of La Salle will be the new DepEd secretary under the new administration
– Talents from ABS-CBN and GMA are getting together for Noynoy inauguration concert
– One of Erap’s daughters called Lito Lapid a “waste of space” on Twitter
– Charice (or more succinctly, the powers-that-be behind Charice) confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that she will appear in Glee next fall, ending all speculation
And speaking of Professional Heckler, here’s one of his punchlines from the Kris-and-James split: “Magkakabalikan, 51 percent; Hindi Magkakabalikan, 47 percent; Vetellano Acosta, 2 percent.”

Binay was not given the DILG post he wanted. The only vacant secretary positions are DAR, DILG, BIR and HUDCC. Binay only wanted DILG if its not given to him he doesn’t want any position at all.
Binay will not attend the street party after the inauguration because the LP and Mar Roxas will be at the Quezon City Memorial Circle… =)

Erm, topic. I almost forgot about Manny *and* Jinkee Pacquiao finishing their leadership courses at the Development Academy of the Philippines days before his swearing-in as congressman! Meanwhile, Krista Ranillo admitted to Ricky Lo that “it’s over” between her and Pacman… especially now that she has a new boyfriend who’s far more available than Manny is, in every sense of the word. (Ricky’s being shady about the identity of this new guy, though; only thing I got from his article is that he’s a bachelor and one of his exes fits the description of Karylle – but for what it’s worth, though, that guy could turn out to be James Yap and I still won’t care, as long as it keeps Krista away.)
