Update: World Domination t-shirts

September 29, 2013 By: jessicazafra Category: Clothing, World Domination Update 4 Comments →

Last month we announced our impending line of World Domination t-shirts and asked you for your opinions and suggestions. Thanks for the feedback.

The first edition of the World Domination t-shirts will be available online in November (Just in time to take your Xmas money!), and later in selected retail outlets. We’ve decided on the following colors:

shirt colors

Black, neon pink, and purple-gray. Shirts for girls (and girly boys), available in S, M, L, XL. The colors of the satin collars vary.

We’re deciding on the text for the shirts. If you have any vehement requests, let us know.

sleeve

You asked for longer sleeves, so voila.

We’re still working on the shirts for boys, and testing the strength of the material for the shirts with overlays.

All t-shirts are made of 100 percent cotton, and maintain their color after dozens of washings (We know, we tested them.) Tentative retail price: Php250. Bulk discounts available on online sales. If you’d like to be a dealer of our World Domination t-shirts, email saffron.safin@gmail.com.

Our enterprising friend is coming up with a line of T-shirts called World Domination, featuring things we have said or written. We’ve been talking about the design for some time.

If we had our way, all T-shirts would be black or white (or a single dark hue), with a line of text. We like basic and stark—we’re strange enough on our own. The shirt-maker said our idea was too severe; we want to reach the mass market and the buyers would like a bit more pizzazz. We didn’t want anything cartoony or obvious. Finally the shirt-maker suggested a translucent overlay.

What do you think? Would you buy this shirt? Target retail price: under Php300.

variant
They could also make variants without overlays, with satin necklines in lighter shades and text to match.

Are there any lines we’ve written that you’d like to see on a t-shirt? Let us know. If the t-shirt gets made, we’ll send you one.

Sheryll and Francine

Sheryll is a shoe entrepreneur, Francine is the lifestyle editor of InterAksyon. Sheryll’s label Shoes by Kai produces handmade shoes using indigenous weaves—abel from the north (Ilocos) and soon, yakan from the south (Zamboanga). Francine welcomes contributions to the Lifestyle section. Pitch your ideas at…(hold on, we forgot to ask).

Jaemark
Jaemark is the managing editor of InterAKTV, which makes him the Lord of the Rings.

Roby
Editor-in-chief Roby hosted the second InterAksyon Cafe event with talks by Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez (20 Months of ‘It’s More Fun in the Philippines’) and coffee nerd Bobby Timonera (who depressed us with his assessment of local coffees but recommends Craft in New Manila and Curator in Makati.)

Joy and Kia
In the audience were Roby’s real bosses, Joy and Kia. (Roby: O. Us: Buti lang nagmana sa mommy.)

Incidentally, we gave a talk about movies at the first InterAksyon Cafe event. It went well, but we asked the team not to upload the video on YouTube because we had three chins. Two chins is normal, three is an invitation to trolls. (Never get shot from below.) We will post the audio as a podcast next week.

Rene
Afterwards we had dinner with Rene, who had to be home by 9:30pm to watch you know what. We caught an episode recently. The exes meet in the street. The music rises. A gust of wind disturbs the leaves on the ground and ruffles Eric’s hair. They have a strained conversation and a brief handshake. Then they spend the next five minutes in their respective apartments staring at their hands, unable to bring themselves to wash them. (Text at 10:27: Ayan na! Vincent is OUT!)

Kitty 1
We’re going to bring the Hello Kitty glasses to all our appointments this week and ask everyone we meet with to get photographed in them. This is the cast from Saturday dinner at Corazon, from left: Raymond, Dorski, Vic, us, and Lee. Lee and Dorski were our producers at Points of View. Raymond, producer of Maximo Oliveros, Endo, Zombadings and Lav Diaz’s Norte, Hangganan Ng Kasaysayan, was their classmate at UP. Marivic was the producer of the rugby coverage on GMA News Network. Marivic, Dorski and Lee are with GMA-7.

Eyeglasses: Kitty, Kitty, Kitty, Prada (haha bwiset), Kitty. If we’re seeing you this week, be warned that these glasses are in your future.

Only one reader submitted an entry to the July LitWit Challenge: Romantic as heck. Nobody else thinks thwarted love is the most romantic kind?

We don’t award prizes by default. However, if he would post his full name in Comments (It won’t be published), we will give him a consolation prize for the effort.
