My feline housemates granted an interview to the distributors of their favorite kibble, Taste of the Wild.

Hi Saffy, Drogon, how are you?

Saffy: Who wants to know?
Drogon: I love everybody!

We’re curious, how did you “meet” Jessica?

Saffy: I was born in her friend’s house and she brought me home.
Drogon: I adopted her! When she opened the door I just ran in.

What do you do everyday? What are your favorite activities?

Saffy: I like to do yoga, take naps, and ponder the nature of reality.
Drogon: I like to explore the house and sit at the window.

Why do you like weird spaces like boxes and nooks and crannies?

In our observation, people who are already stressed will get more stressed if you give them coloring books because it’s more work they will feel compelled to do. These leather-bound volumes are not only beautiful, but unlike the hardcover editions which are heavy and difficult to read in transit, they are light and easy to hold. And at Php2,999 the set at National Bookstores, that’s just Php600 for each book. That’s less than we had to shell out under duress for Ever After High Book 3 (Good description for what it is: drugs for little girls) for our niece’s birthday.

Yes, it’s the words that matter and not the package they come in, but these would look great on your shelves. Give your current set to a friend or young relative, and buy these for yourself or for someone who’s been waiting for The Winds of Winter for the last few years (but not to us, obviously, so we’ll take the hoodie).

We’ve started writing a book-length memoir of our feline companions.

We want it to be different from the two columns we write every week, so we’re not using our trusty Moleskines. For this project, we got these faux-antique notebooks by Paperblanks. The two above are reproductions of a 1688 binding adorned a la fanfare, a hand-tooled pattern edged in gilt.
